Creative voice is not something you force. It grows as you keep creating.
Finding your creative voice is not something that happens overnight. For me, it has been a process of learning, unlearning, and slowly growing into work that feels true to who I am.
At first, I thought creativity had to look polished right away. Now I see that my voice becomes clearer the more I keep showing up for it.
The Beginning.
The first time I discovered blogging, I immediately wanted to build my own website. I stayed up an entire night on Wix trying to figure it out, even though I had no idea what I was doing.
Looking back, that moment showed me something important: when I care about something, I do not stop easily.
That determination is a big part of my creative voice.
What Creative Voice Means To Me.
To me, creative voice is not just about style. It’s the way your work feels like you. It’s your perspective, your energy, and the way you express yourself.
Your voice is the part of your work that feels unmistakably yours.
What Helps Me Create.
I create best when I have quiet space to think. Even when the work is difficult, I work more naturally when I can be alone with my thoughts. I do value feedback, especially when I am unsure about something I am making.
But my best work usually starts in silence.
What Gets In The Way.
There are also things that can get in the way of my creative voice.
I can be a people pleaser, especially with people I do not know well.
I also struggle with comparison. When I start looking at what other people are doing, it becomes easy to doubt myself and forget that my journey is my own.
There is also pressure to be original all the time. But sometimes creativity does not need to be extreme or perfect.
Sometimes it just needs to be honest.
What Faith Taught Me.
Faith has helped me a lot through this process.
I’m bad at taking breaks, and that is partly why it took me a while to build lifewthvee into something stable and cohesive. I wanted it to be both useful and creative, and that took time.
Without faith, I don’t think I would have gotten this far, because it taught me the importance of accountability.
If you are trying to find your creative voice, it helps to have something or someone that keeps you grounded in your goals.
What I’ve Learned.
Over time, I’ve gotten better at writing, but also at critical thinking.
That growth now helps me create blog posts that are meant to encourage other people like me to find their own purpose and goals. And I always remind myself that it is okay to make mistakes, because that is how you learn.
The path to success is rarely easy, but if you keep working at what you love, you are already moving forward.
Your creative voice does not have to arrive fully formed. It grows as you create, learn, and keep going.
Finding your creative voice is less about becoming someone else and more about learning how to trust the person you already are.
